Morning Arrival / Late Arrival

Students should arrive between 8:15 a.m. and 8:20 a.m. Period One begins at 8:25 a.m. The classroom entry doors will be locked at 8:30 a.m.  Any student that arrives after 8:30 a.m. will need to enter the front school doors, which remain unlocked until 8:45 a.m.  Students should sanitize hands upon entry and check-in at the office.  Parents should accompany the student to the front step if students arrive after 8:45 a.m. and may call us at 780-796-3936 to let us know the student has arrived.

Please note that the school doorbell is currently only functioning during non-instructional hours.  Facilities staff are working on getting our school bell functional during the day.  In the interim, please make sure to accompany your child and bring your phone to the front doors.  Please call 780-796-3936.

EIPS COVID Information

The most current information on procedures and protocols are available on the EIPS website.

Steps to take if your child is sent home not feeling well:

1. Complete the online Alberta Health Services COVID-19 Self-Assessment

https://myhealth.alberta.ca/Journey/COVID-19/Pages/COVID-Self-Assessment.aspx

  • Launch self-assessment
  • Answer screening questions (yes/no)
  • Follow the AHS directions and recommendations
  • If uncertain, call 811.

2. Keep the school informed about any recommendations. 780-796-3936

3. Once able to return, please remember to complete the daily COVID screening questionnaire every morning.

Should a student exhibit symptoms including a cough, fever, shortness of breath, runny nose, sore throat, AHS recommends they be tested and states they cannot return to school for at least 10 days from the start of symptoms or until symptoms have abated, whichever is longer. If a student is tested for COVID-19 and the test is negative, the student can only return to school after symptoms are gone.

If the student exhibits other symptoms such as chills, painful swallowing, stuffy nose, headache, muscle or joint ache, feeling unwell, loss of smell or taste, or pink-eye, AHS recommends they be tested and states they cannot go to school until symptoms have abated. If a student is tested for COVID-19 and the test is negative, the student can only return to school after symptoms are gone.

We sincerely hope your child is feeling better soon.

Bruderheim School Council Meeting - Mon. Sep. 14  7 p.m.

Meet Code:  gff-rpst-cwv     https://meet.google.com/

All parents are welcome to attend school council meetings for the 2020-2021 school year.  Executive positions are determined at the first meeting of the year.   The executive positions are parents volunteering their time and expertise as the Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary and Treasurer.  The position of Treasurer has been vacant, and last year's council is urging anyone interested in this or another position to please attend the meeting.  If you would like more information on what each position entails, please contact the school at 780-796-3936.

School councils are an important forum through which members of school communities play an advisory role in school improvement planning. Key factors in collaborative relationships are building meaningful, two-way communication and supporting respectful interactions among education partners. The School council is a structured group of parents, principals, teachers, secondary students and community representatives whose purpose is to advise the principal and the school board respecting matters relating to the school. It is a means for parents and community members to work together with the school to support and enhance student learning.
A school council is a vehicle to support meaningful parental involvement in decisions that affect the school and its operations. The School Council provides the venue for parents to reflect the wishes of the broader community for the education of its students and to actively participate in giving advice and support to the principal in the operations of the school.
